Apple Music Redesign
UI Design
Project Overview
For App Team Carolina’s Semesterly App Team Gala, I was tasked with redesigning Apple Music by adding a new feature to enhance the user experience. After gathering insights from Apple Music users about their frustrations and conducting a feature comparison with competitors like Spotify and YouTube Music, I decided to introduce a "My Friends" feature to foster more social interaction within the app.

Using Figma, I created a high-fidelity prototype, focusing on improving user engagement and ease of navigation. Ultimately, This redesign won first place as the "best overall design award" out of a competition pool of over 20 other redesigns.

My Design Process
Low-Fidelity Prototype
I started by creating a low-fidelity prototype, mapping out the app's major features along with the 'My Friends' feature that I planned to integrate.

High-Fidelity Prototype
Building on the low-fidelity prototype, I created a high-fidelity version, utilizing SF Symbols and closely adhering to Apple Music's style guide. I made sure to implement elements that would fit well within Apple Music's already existing UI.

The image above displays the 9 Figma frames I created for this project. Frames 2, 3, 7, 8, and 9 are exact recreations of the original app. Frames 1, 3, 4, and 5 showcase the implementation of the 'My Friends' feature.
